What Types of Brushes Can I Use In Encaustic?
We recommend you use short-handled, natural bristle brushes...avoid synthetic brushes because they may burn while working with the heat. Hog-haired brushes like slotted brushes or goat-haired brushes like Hake brushes are great for encaustic. Keep in mind, that your brushes need to stay solely for encaustic use as you will never completely remove all the wax from the bristles. Slick Wax is a great product to use to clean your brushes between color changes or uses.
